Geaux Swim was started by two local families looking to bring a safe, fun, community-based swim program to Shreveport-Bossier.

Our guiding principle is to promote safety, education and conservation in a fun environment that fosters an experience that will last long after the swim lesson is over.

We are parents too, and understand how busy life is and continues to get:

  • Prices are set up on a monthly basis and are run automatically
  • We offer make up sessions
  • Easy class transfers
  • Worry Free Cancellation Policy
  • Family discounts offered
  • Multiple classes are held at the same time, so families with multiple children can attend swim lessons at the same time (or relatively close)
  • Schedules and pricing are available to see without the additional steps of creating an account or calling for more information
  • Able to book up to 4 weeks in advance

Diving swim classes by age groups are a way for parents to evaluate their child's swim process amongst similar swim friends.

Therefore, parental expectations are used as a healthy tool.

As parents, we often have expectations based on our child’s age. By grouping children by age, Geaux Swim can attempt to meet parents’ expectations regarding their child’s progress and ensure they are learning alongside peers of a similar age. Parents and Guardians are able to see what skills we work on in class, to then practice at home or at a local pool, and provide an opportunity to discuss what they are learning in class, what they might be afraid of, and what they want to achieve.

The intention is never meant to shame our kids or our families that a student hasn't learned or doesn't trust a swim skill yet. The intention is to have examples to show our children in a healthy and trusted environment.

Geaux Swim’s Stroke Class was inspired quickly after opening our doors for children and teens who knew how to swim independently, and wanted to learn a cleaner, more efficient technique of swimming.

To the Moms who

- made sure we put on sunscreen
- packed the swim bag for our family adventure
- double checked our life jackets, arm floaties, pool noodles and pool sinky toys were within reach
- reminded us to stay hydrated in the sun
- re-applied the sun screen
- jumped into the water to play with us
- relaxed on the pool decks and watched us play
- encourage safety for all children
- inspired us to be amazing and caring mom ourselves

Happy Mother's Day, from Geaux Swim!

Safety is one of the biggest reasons we divide our #swimclasses by age groups. Next, it is to be able to communicate in a way the average swimmers can understand according to their skill level.

Teen - Adult
Therefore in our Teen and Adult swim classes, instructors are able to explain how the body reacts with breathe control, for the swimmer to anticipate their body movement, feel the validation of safety, and continue learning advance steps. Most people in this class are very aware of their body and how it functions (or maybe doesn’t function!)

“I’ve never been able to float!”"
"Alright, let's do this!"
